French Onion Burger with Chips
1 package Aunt Millie's Hearth Classic White Hamburger Buns
2 lb. ground beef
2 pkg. dry onion soup mix
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
4 large sweet onions
1 c. beef stock
2 tsp. dried thyme, chopped
3 Tbsp. olive oil
½ c. sour cream
8 slices Swiss cheese
sliced dill pickles
¼ BBQ sauce
Peel onions and cut them into half-moons. Sauté in pan over medium heat in the olive oil until caramelized. Add stock and thyme and cook until most of the stock is evaporated. This may take up to 20 minutes. Add sour cream, salt and pepper and set aside.
Meanwhile, mix together hamburger, soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, and eggs. Combine well and form into 8 patties.
Grill patties for 6 – 8 minutes on each side, adding Swiss cheese after flipping. Thermometer should register 165 degrees.
Combine mayonnaise and BBQ sauce together.
Remove burgers from grill and place on hamburger buns. Top with mayonnaise mixture, onions, pickles and potato chips.
